No sewing machine needed.
- Two fat quarters or a half-yard of solid-color cotton fabric. A pastel color, white or off-white is best. Avoid tightly woven (pima) cottons. Sateen is fine.
- One fat quarter of cotton batiste (white)
- White cotton yarn such as 4-ply Worsted Weight ”Sugar ‘n Cream” made by Lily, or Cotton Ease white yarn. Both can be found at Michael's.
- Silver pencil
- Hera marker by Clover (a plastic tool for making a narrow, crimped line on fabric that you can follow when quilting)
- Masking tape
- Small, sharp scissors
- Fine dressmaker pins or silk pins
- Basting thread and needle
- Hobbs 80/20 cotton batting
- #50 weight Mettler cotton thread or other hand quilting thread to coordinate with fat quarter fabric
- Quilting betweens, #12 or #10
- 12 to 14 inch wooden quilting hoop
- Tapestry or embroidery needle for yarn: as thin as possible with a big enough eye for cotton yarn!
- 12- or 18-inch see-thru ruler
- Round toothpick
- white Misty Fuse
- two pieces of different battings (one fat quarter each): Quilter's Dream white cotton batt and Hobbs Poly Down batting
- parchment paper OR a piece of release paper from Wonder Under
- light box
- Also: please bring a batted, loosely basted “sandwich” of muslin and the same batting as above and some quilting thread to match.
